Lost & Found at Wilderness at the Smokies
We know how stressful it can be to misplace something while on vacation. Our team works with Bounte Lost & Found system to help reunite guests with their belongings. Here’s what you need to know:
Shipping & Fees
- Guests cover shipping costs plus a $10 processing fee.
- Shipping rates are set by the U.S. Postal Service based on item size and weight.
- Once a shipping label request is sent, you’ll have 7 days to provide the label.
- If no label is received within 7 days, items may be disposed of.
Communication
- Claim updates come from Wilderness at the Smokies or Bounte.
- Be sure to check your spam/junk folders so you don’t miss important emails.
How Long Items Are Kept
- Clothing, linens, towels, swim gear → held for 14 days
- Electronics & jewelry → held for 30 days
- After these periods, items may be donated or disposed of.
Special Items
- Medications (prescription or over‑the‑counter) → disposed of within 48 hours (cannot be shipped).
- Credit & debit cards → securely shredded after 30 days.
- Social Security cards, birth certificates, and local driver’s licenses → turned over to the proper authorities.
