Wilderness Resorts and Waterparks, the parent company for Wilderness at the Smokies and Soaky Mountain Waterpark has a 12-month, paid Management Development Program that is designed to provide you with hands-on experience in every aspect of hospitality management.
Different rotational assignments provide trainee managers the opportunity to rotate through various departments such as front desk housekeeping, food & beverage, sales & marketing, guest services and operation management; in an effort to gain a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the hospitality business.
The program also emphasizes key leadership skills such as supervisory techniques, team building, employee motivation, performance management, and conflict resolution; as well as budgeting and financial management, customer service excellence, technology systems and project management.
According to Pete our Managing Director, “This program offers an amazing opportunity for anyone with five years of industry experience or a Hospitality Bachelor’s degree. It provides participants with an in-depth understanding of the hospitality business by allowing them to experience first-hand the inner workings of every department of our resort. Plus, upon successful completion of the program, participants will be placed in a managerial role within either Wilderness at the Smokies or Soaky Mountain Waterpark.”
For those already employed at Wilderness Resorts and Waterparks, candidates can enter the program with as little as two years of experience, with a formal recommendation from their direct supervisor.
