Congratulations to our 11 Project Search Intern Graduates

We are proud to announce that all 11 of our 2024-25 Project SEARCH job training interns have graduated and secured employment. This marks a significant milestone for both our program and incredible individuals it serves.

Our Project SEARCH job training program provides transformative employment training initiatives designed for young adults with disabilities transitioning from high school to the workforce. Through immersive, real-world experiences—ranging from hospitality and maintenance to customer service and retail—interns develop vital skills, build confidence, and gain independence. Our program just completed its sixth year and has proudly produced 42 graduates.

There are currently 711 Project SEARCH programs worldwide. Our program is the only one in Sevier County and one of 19 in Tennessee. This program is made possible through our partnership with the Sevier County School District and The Access Program.

Our resort offers job training opportunities in seven different hospitality-related departments, exposing interns to up to 16 potential career paths. Based on their interests and strengths, most students complete three nine-week rotations in different departments throughout the school year. Our program just completed its 6th year and has had 42 students graduate from it.

“This year’s group of interns brought enthusiasm, resilience, and heart to every task,” said Jennifer Jeffers from Project SEARCH. “Their growth is a powerful example of what’s possible when inclusive training meets opportunity.”

Ten this year’s graduates were hired directly by our resort, while one intern secured a position in the local community. Their roles span a wide range of departments, reflecting their individual talents and interests:

  • Brad will be working in Food & Beverage
  • William and Ethan will be working in Attractions
  • Nathaniel and Cody will be working in Housekeeping
  • Dale and Payton will be working Groundskeeping
  • Leland will be working in Aquatics Maintenance
  • Caroline will be working in Aquatics
  • Alex will be working in Retail

“This success story is not just about employment,” Jeffers added. “It’s about building inclusive pathways to opportunity and recognizing the extraordinary potential of every young adult.”

We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to all of our graduates and wish them the very best in their future careers. We are confident they are going to soar!
