Sevierville Hospitality Association Honors Carol with a Prestigious Scholarship
We love our employees, and it makes us happy and proud when they are doing things to improve themselves. That’s why we would like to congratulate Carol C., who has been a team member since 2017, and is currently one of our food and beverage managers.
Carol was recently awarded a $1,500 scholarship from the Sevierville Hospitality Association to help her to continue her culinary school education at Walter State where she is pursuing an Associate’s degree in Bus-Culin Arts/Hot Foods along with a certificate in Hospitality Food Management.
According to Carol, “After working in the industry for as long as I have, I realized that in order to reach the next level in my career I needed to obtain the proper degree and certifications to assist in my growth and development.
“I returned to school to prove to myself, my team and others that it can be done, it’s never too late, and you can always continue to learn and grow. I also wanted to be a role model for my nine year-old daughter and show her that if you work hard and apply yourself you can achieve any goal you set for yourself and create new goals. I’m excited for the future.”
Carol currently is responsible for managing the operations for the F&B outlets throughout our resort. Along with leading and developing her team, Carol is responsible for providing excellent customer service to our guests, ordering and maintaining inventory, budgeting, training and making sure all health and safety rules and regulations are being followed.
Carol has been in the food industry since she was 14 years-old so she is a real industry pro. She started her journey at Dairy Queen, then worked at Walmart, Olive Garden, Reel Theaters Movies Wendy’s and the Edge Water Hotel.
Congratulations Carol. We are proud of you! Keep up the great work!
