Unwrap the holidays at the Wilderness

Christmas is one of our favorite times of year. The resort is festively decorated inside and out, and we have all sorts of fun holiday events. Plan now to be part of our celebration!

Ice Skating
Experience the fun of skating on a real ice rink November 6^th–8^th, then daily November 13^th-January 3^rd and again January 8^th-10^th as a 3,200 square foot portion of our outdoor wave pool will once again be converted into a festive rink surrounded by holidays lights and decorations. Be sure to stop in our Winter Wilderland, get a cup of hot cocoa or make a s’more while you are there! On Saturday, November 14^th , from 10 am to 10:30 pm, we will be hosting Skate for a Cause ,a special fundraiser for Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee, where 100 percent of the public ice skating admissions will directly benefit the agency.

Santa’s Workshop
This fun tradition is returning! In Santa’s workshop, kids can enjoy our treat station or write and mail a letter to Santa. Santa’s workshop, which will be located in the Wild Kids Club Conference Room as well as outside in the Winter Wilderland, where fun and games will be available by our ice skating rink, will be open

• November 28^th, December 5^th, 12^th, 19^th, 21^st, and 22^nd, from 11 am-8 pm

Santa Appearances
We’re happy to report that the jolly ol’ man will be visiting our resort again this season. You’ll be able to find Santa in our outdoor Winter Wonderland (the first hour of each scheduled appearance) and in Santa’s Workshop in our River Lodge lobby (the last two hours of each scheduled appearance).

Story Time with Mrs. Claus
Join Mrs. Claus on Saturdays and Sundays (November 28^th, 29^th, December 5^th, 6^th, 12^th, 13^th, 19^th, and 20^th) from 8:30-10:30 am as she hosts 30-minute Christmas-themed story times in Camp Social. Reservations can be made during booking online, or added to an existing reservation by calling our reservations team at (877) 325-9453.

Holly Jolly Moonshine Run
Adventure Forest’s Moonshine Run Indoor Blacklight Mini Golf is transforming their 9-hole course from November 6th– January 3rd into a Holly Jolly Moonshine Run complete with festive Christmas decorations, lighting, and holiday music to make the course even more challenging and fun. Come check it out!

Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland at Soaky Mountain
Across the street from Wilderness at the Smokies, Soaky Mountain Waterpark will also be celebrating Christmas with Shadrack’s original Christmas Wonderland Light Display, November 13^th-December 31^st in its parking lot. Afterwards your family can visit Snowy Mountain Village (Open November 13^th-15^th and then daily November 20^th-December 30^th) Located inside Soaky Mountain Waterpark. It will feature inflatable bounce houses, yard games, festive photo opportunities, souvenirs, delicious food and desserts, fire pits and on select nights, a visit with Santa and/or Boomer!

Christmas Day Buffet
Our amazing Christmas Buffet is returning to Camp Social on Friday, December 25^th, 2025, from 1-7 pm

Salad Table to include: a display of Fresh Seasonal and Tropical Fruits including Pineapple, Cantaloupe, Honeydew, Strawberries, and Kiwi; Seasonal Greens with your choice of Dressing; Peel and Eat Shrimp display accompanied with Cocktail Sauce and Lemons; Loaded Potato Soup and Chicken and Dumplings

Carving Station with: Slow Roasted Brown Sugar Pork Tenderloin and Herb Crusted Prime Rib with Fresh Rosemary Jus, Cranberry Sauce and Creamed Horseradish

Entrée Table to include: Smoked Ham with Brown Sugar Glaze;  Smoked Turkey Breast with Giblet Gravy; Breaded Clam Strips; Popcorn Shrimp; Fried Okra; Vegetable Medley; Cornbread Dressing; Sweet Potato Soufflé; Sweet Buttered Cream Corn; Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes; and Dinner Rolls
